Child Development


Child Development is a course offered

from the Human Services Career Cluster

This technical laboratory course will gain knowledge

and skills related to child growth and development

from prenatal through school-age children.




Students will learn:

responsibilities of parenting

identify signs/stages of pregnancy

development of infants of diverse backgrounds

typical growth/development of brain

research advantages of breast feeding

physical, emotional, social and intellectual needs of toddler

create play activities age appropriate

design a career portfolio

participate in childcare simulations

create a babysitter's portfolio

explore careers through FCCLA projects*
