Hamshire Fannett ISD participates in the National School Lunch Program and the School Breakfast Program. Both are federally assisted programs administered by the U. S. Department of Agriculture. All meals served within the program meet the requirements and offer free and reduced priced meals to eligible children.
Applications for the free & reduced program will be sent home with all students the first day of school along with a letter explaining the program in more detail. An application may be filled out at any time during the school year. Only one form per household needs to be filled out regardless of the number of children in the household.
A new application must be completed each school year. Students approved application on file from the previous school year will receive the same free or reduced priced meals for the first 30 days of the new school year. After, the first 30 days of the new school year, any family that has not submitted a new application will have meal benefits terminated. At this time the student will receive full paid meal benefits until a new application has been submitted and approved.
For more information on Free & Reduced Priced meals please call the Child Nutrition office at 409-794-1412 ext. 118.
