Visitor Information
All visitors must check in to the office with proper ID upon arrival. The visitor's badge needs to be visible at all times. Safety for our students, staff, and visitors is the goal of Hamshire-Fannett Middle School.

Arrival & Dismissal
Arrival
The school day begins at 7:55 am. There is only one lane for students being dropped off by car. We encourage parents to allow their students to ride the bus to avoid a long drop-off line. Students arriving after 7:55 am will need to report to the receptionist for a tardy pass before reporting to class. School doors will be opened at 7:30 am for student arrival. There will no staff on duty prior to 7:30 am. Students will report to the gym or to the cafeteria for breakfast once the doors open at 7:30 am. Breakfast will be served daily from 7:30-7:50 am. We encourage all students to eat breakfast before starting the school day.
Dismissal
The school day ends at 3:30 pm. Bus riders will report to the loading zone, and walkers and bike riders will leave the campus immediately after dismissal. Car riders will report to the front entrance of the school. There is only one lane for pick up and there is no area for parking. Students leaving school early for medical appointments will need to be picked up prior to 3:00 pm. We encourage parents to only pick up students early when absolutely necessary. Any time prior to 3:30 pm results in loss of instructional time.

Lunch Times & Procedures

Parents will be allowed to drop off lunches at the front office for their child/ren only. Lunch must be dropped off before the student's designated lunch period, with the student's name and grade level written on the lunch. The student will be contacted by an office staff member to pick up their lunch during their scheduled time on the way to the cafeteria. Students will not be released from the classroom during instruction to pick up lunches. HFISD has a closed breakfast and lunch. Visitors are not allowed to eat with students during scheduled lunch times on campus.
Microwaves will not be available in the cafeteria for students to heat lunches.
