Hamshire-Fannett ISD wants to make all patrons aware that our stadium protocols have been formally written and published in this communication.
These protocols are not particularly new; they’ve just been formalized through written and published communication. The protocols truly encourage school spirit while balancing actions of spirited display with the health, safety, and respect of others.
None of these protocols preclude fans from yelling, dressing up appropriately, using noise makers outside, or showing other spirited acts that do not impede the health, safety, and respect of others. For example, fans may wear and bring glow sticks; however, throwing that glow stick could be an issue of health, safety, and disrespect of others, especially if these items hit student performers or land in walkways where patrons may slip and fall on the glow stick. Also, powder mixed with the Southeast Texas humidity can create a wet surface and safety hazard on metal bleachers.
The district is confident that the continued level of school spirit will remain at a high level. In addition, that high level of spirit will help student performers and all patrons remain safe and respected. We look forward to our remaining spirit-filled games and activities this year!
