Healthy relationships are built on trust, respect, communication, and mutual understanding. Recognizing the warning signs of unhealthy relationships is an important part of keeping our students safe.
What is Teen Dating Violence?
Teen dating violence is a pattern of behavior in which one person uses physical, emotional, verbal, sexual, or psychological abuse to gain power and control over a dating partner. This behavior may include:

Physical or sexual violence

Threats or intimidation

Verbal or emotional abuse

Harassment or stalking, including through technology

Destruction of personal property

Controlling or manipulative behaviors
Teen dating violence can affect anyone, regardless of age, gender, or background, and no form of abuse is ever acceptable.
Getting Help
Students who experience or witness teen dating violence are encouraged to speak with a trusted adult as soon as possible. Support is available through:
