Welcome Back Shorthorns

Dear Shorthorns,

Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year!  We are thrilled to begin a new school year with our students and staff.  We hope that you were able to relax and make special memories with family and friends.  Now is the time to look forward to a wonderful new school year as we “Stampede into Academic Success” at Hamshire-Fannett Middle School!

We are extremely excited to work with our new middle school team members and new families.  A special welcome to our new group of sixth graders transitioning to middle school.  What an important milestone in their lives!  We truly appreciate our parents for their acts of kindness and encouragement.  Thank you Hamshire-Fannett Middle School PTA and your amazing support!

Our incredible staff of educators have worked diligently this summer to prepare for the new school year. Our administrative and clerical staff have been working to ensure a smooth start for our families and staff.   We are also grateful to our amazing custodial team who worked this summer to prepare a safe and clean environment. Our staff looks forward to greeting students and families again.

Everyone is committed to ensuring that Hamshire-Fannett Middle remains a celebrated and successful school; a special place to grow and learn.  We are proud of our school and have high expectations for all students.  As a Capturing Kids’ Hearts National Showcase School, we are dedicated to making connections with our families and staff; to make everyone feel valued, accepted and safe. Our mission to educate all students to their highest level of academic achievement and to prepare them to become productive responsible students will continue to guide our goals to provide a rigorous, joyful and safe school environment.  Our students’ accomplishments as UIL District Academic Achievement Champions, Robotic Champions and Cheerleading Superior rankings are just some of the evidence of our continuous growth.

Partnering with families is crucial to promote a healthy transition to schools both socially and emotionally.  We recognize that students may feel anxious with the start of a new school year and we will continue to place a strong emphasis on social emotional learning while focusing on building classroom communities.  We encourage our families to remain connected and informed by reading newsletters, visiting our district website and listening to announcements sent through Blackboard.  We have an “open door” for all ideas and concerns.  Communication is key to a successful year!

It remains an honor and privilege to serve as your principal.  Together we will make the school year one of growth and academic success for our students!

Sincerely,
Cynthia M. Jackson, Ed. D.
